Safety boost for Bruce Highway intersections

 [separator headline="h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6" title="FEBRUARY 4, 2015: "]CONSTRUCTION works have been completed on upgrades at two intersections on the Bruce Highway north of Mackay.This is part of the Liberal National Government's ongoing commitment to Fix The Bruce and this is a contribution of $3.2 million for safety improvements at the Geeburga Buthurra Road and McLeans Road intersections.Thousands of road users will benefit from the improvements, and more than 4,000 vehicles use this busy stretch of the Bruce every day.

These upgrades include the installation of protected left and right turn lanes from the Bruce Highway at both intersections.

They also have created safer entry and exit point for motorists accessing the Palm Tree Creek Rest Area and will result in considerable time savings for motorists and local industries.The Liberal National Government is committed to improving the Bruce Highway through major upgrades, new overtaking lanes, rest areas and targeted safety improvements.In total, the 2014–15 Budget commits $13.4 billion to provide the road infrastructure Queensland needs to improve safety, boost productivity and create jobs.Construction works for the project commenced in August 2014.
