Labor's stance against coal and jobs
The Labor Party has declared it will destroy the Abbot Point and Galilee Basin mining jobs that the local LNP team has worked so hard to get going. When the ABC is reporting that Labor leader Bill Shorten “doesn’t see much of a future for coal industry”, the choice for Mackay locals concerned about job security could not be any clearer: Labor is against jobs. Labor severed any remaining ties to the workers of Australia by promising to move heaven and earth to stop North Queensland’s biggest job-creating project that could see our region boom again. Annastacia “the Job Slayer” Palaszczuk has promised to exploit any loophole to stop the vital port development at Abbot Point and to pull funding from infrastructure linking the port with the planned Carmichael mine in Central Queensland. Those promises are a declaration to North Queensland that only the LNP will ensure the mine, rail and port projects create tens of thousands of essential jobs.At the Federal election, Labor refused to publicly admit they would stop Abbot Point but now they have nailed their colours to the mast and that has got to be a massive kick in the guts to the workers of Queensland. The Liberal National Government at both State and Federal Level have taken a balanced approach to ensure job-creating projects can deliver a better life for Queenslanders and all Australians with a minimal impact on the environment.Queensland and the entire nation have been left with huge debts that must be addressed and the Liberal National Governments are cleaning up Labor’s mess by ensuring Australians have the opportunity to work for a decent living.
