Solar ‘community group’ is a green activist front

A green activist organisation is masquerading as a community group in order to push their climate change agenda and anti-mining rhetoric in the media.

Solar Citizens are trying to peddle the story that they are a ‘community group’ and that they are ‘independent’.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

The national director of Solar Citizens – Ellen Roberts – is a green activist who was most recently charged for protesting outside the Prime Minister’s private residence with a Greens MP.

Ms Roberts is a professional environmental activist who has been involved in anti-coal protests and groups with a dozen different names in Victoria, NSW and Queensland.

She had a long association with the activist group GetUp! who also claimed to be independent but who have been totally discredited.

She based herself in Mackay for a while to protest against the mining industry here.

Solar Citizens have every right to make whatever fantastical claims they like, but they should be honest about who and what they are, which is a clearly political green activist group.

That is how their claims need to be reported.
