Record investment in Queensland schools
Students throughout the region will benefit from the Morrison Liberal National Government’s record $5.4 billion funding for schools in Queensland next year, up from $5.1 billion in 2021.
This record investment in Queensland schools is very welcome and will give our kids the best possible chance to get the best education and reach their full potential.
We have many great schools in our region filled with hard-working dedicated teachers and the Government is backing them, so they can focus on giving their students the best education.
Examples of Federal Government funding per school in 2022:
• Mackay North State High School: $5,483,906 or $4,311 per student
• Proserpine State High School: $5,167,620 or $4,866 per student
• Bowen State High School: $3,111,375 or $5,002 per student
• Home Hill State High: $1,254,831 or $5,207 per student
• William Ross State High School: $3,368,167 or $4,380 per student
Minister for Education Alan Tudge said locking in record funding means states, territories and schools could now focus on lifting standards.
“We are committed to seeing our school students once again performing among the top nations across reading, mathematics and science by 2030,” Minister Tudge said.
“To do this we need more than funding – we need to attract the best students into teaching and give them the best training, fix our curriculum and back our teachers with strong assessment tools.
Funding for Queensland schools has almost doubled since the Government came to office, and is locked in to grow a further 38 per cent between now and 2029.
