Proserpine Entertainment Centre Re-build gets underway
Proserpine has moved one step closer to enjoying live entertainment once again after the first turning of the sod took place earlier this week.
It’s great to see the project getting underway; very soon the people of Proserpine will have their entertainment centre back and better than before.
It’s been three and a half years since the original building was damaged in cyclone Debbie and severe structural defects were discovered, meaning it had to be torn down and completely rebuilt.
During that time, I fought for and secured the $5 million in funding from Morrison Liberal National Government which enabled this much needed project to go ahead.
I’m sure it’s going to be worth the wait for Prossie locals who will soon be able to enjoy a great 300 seat facility.
But first, we get to see the demolition site turn into a construction site, which means local jobs!
The new Proserpine Entertainment Centre will incorporate a range of key features including;
a 300 raked seat auditorium for both live shows and movies
a 256-banquet seating space for conference and/or functions
modern bar and food preparation areas
full disabled access for patrons
green room, change rooms, loading dock and prop storage
