Last week I called out a social media post by the ABC promoting radical groups that called for the defunding of USA police and sought to bail out criminals.

The post that appeared on the official ABC News Instagram account recommended donating to ‘Reclaim the Block’ and ‘The Bail Project’ as ‘practical ways to help fight racism’.

I was disgusted to see our public broadcaster promoting these radical groups to more than half a million people on their social media platforms.

These are radical organisations masquerading as charities.

As it turns out, the ‘Reclaim the Block’ charity seeks to defund the police and ‘The Bail Project’ is raising funds to bail out people arrested during the recent widespread US riots.

Why is the taxpayer-funded ABC exploiting their reach and promoting these so called ‘charities’?

It is a serious concern, when our national broadcaster, that receives more than $1 billion per annum in government funding, is openly supporting such radical and anarchic ideologies.

After penning a letter to the ABC chair, Ita Buttrose, I quickly received a response acknowledging the issue and agreeing to remove the post.

I have to commend Ms Buttrose for immediately recognising that it was totally out of line and taking swift action to correct the matter.
