Seaforth Men’s Shed President Chris Gee said the funding will enable the building of much needed storage.

The Seaforth Men’s Shed will receive a total of $7,811 under the National Shed Development Programme and this funding will allow the attendees to do a few things.

Two members of the group will undertake first aid training which is a great safety measure.

The men’s shed will also be doing some improvements such as the set out and construction of footings piers for their container, and funding will also cover the hire of a crane to lift the container into position.

Men’s Sheds are wonderful gathering places for men after retirement, and these social connections improve both physical and mental health.

Our men’s sheds also engage in activities and projects which benefit the wider community.

They are particularly important in smaller centres like Seaforth, where there are less options for activities close at hand.

Congratulations to Seaforth Men’s Shed president Chris Gee and the rest of the group on what they are achieving for the local community.

More than 6,000 men across the country will benefit from a $500,000 investment in Round 20 of the National Shed Development programme.

The Morrison Liberal National Government has provided $5.4 million to support men’s sheds since 2013.
