MANDATORY MASKS
I’ve made my views clear on mandatory mask wearing. We live in a free country and we should be free to choose whether or not we cover our faces.
Pandemic or no pandemic, it’s overreach for any level of government to mandate facial coverings.
“While the efficacy of masks is questionable, the enforcement of mask wearing by law is detestable. Virus or no virus, people cannot and should not be forced to cover their face for fear of financial penalty or worse in a democratic society like Australia. It is simply a violation of individual freedom.”
— George Christensen
There’s no conclusive scientific data to prove mask wearing is effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19¹.
There is some data that suggests it could actually increase transmission rates².
Australians are an accommodating people, community-minded and happy to oblige when asked to lend a hand, and that’s admirable.
But we shouldn’t blindly obey orders that infringe on our democratic, free way of life. Compulsory mask wearing is a step too far.
