Time to sign up to welcome campaign

OCTOBER 13, 2015: THE postcards and signatures on the Adani campaign are rolling into the office as close to 1000 people register their support for the Carmichael Mine Project and Abbot Point coal terminal expansion. It is vital for the region to demonstrate its willingness to work on the project which will create thousands of jobs over the total project. We want to ensure we are a collection point for workers for the Carmichael Coal Project, and it has always been Adani’s intention that this be the case. When Adani produced their social impact statement they stated their intention to collect workers from one or more population centres on the east coast and fly them to a proposed airstrip adjacent to the mine. The collection points they noted included Mackay and Proserpine.I’ve already had a number of discussions about this, and there is considerable interest in the plan. But I invite all workers and business people in the region to jump on the welcome wagon so I can deliver a very convincing message when I personally deliver your postcards to Mr Gautam Adani early next month. To show your support, fill out the postcards which have been delivered to mailboxes and inserted into newspapers over the last two weeks. You can also sign the e-postcard at www.readyforjobs.com.au , or call in to the office at 21 Milton St, Mackay to request a postcard.
