Take Life Checks to live longer

Get a Life Check

Thousands of residents are being encouraged to take new online Life Checks, as the Liberal National Government continues rolling out its More Choices For A Longer Life measures, to support local people to live longer, better lives.

Life Checks are about empowering people to make the best choices for their future.

Taking a Life Check gives you a clearer picture of how you’re currently tracking and helps you prepare for the next stage of life.

This is one of the best New Year’s resolutions you can make in 2019 and it’s something to tell your friends about, because spending a few minutes taking a Life Check could make a lifetime of difference.

The new Life Checks websiteoffers two free quizzes, one for 45 to 64 year olds and the other for 65s andolder.

Each quiz is broken intofour parts – health, work, finance and social life – the key areas thatdetermine our wellbeing and ultimately how we will live our future lives.

The questions in eachsection have been shaped by research showing Australians are not adequatelyprepared for their next stage of life.

Many of us are not taking action to reduce preventable diseases and most do not have financial plans in place.

Our health and financial circumstance are crucial to our ability to live comfortably.

The work and social lifeinclusions in the quiz encourage people to stay engaged with work and their localcommunities.

I want everyone living in our local communities to be adequately prepared to live the life they want, and I encourage every person over the age of 45 to visit lifechecks.gov.au today.
