Support for arts partnership

The Liberal National Government will fund a partnership between Crossroad Arts, BlueCare and the Endeavour Foundation to steer two major dance and photography projects. This is an innovative partnership called cheek2cheek and it’s being overseen by Mackay’s award-winning Crossroad Arts director Steve Mayer-Miller.It will allow for collaboration between major stakeholders in the disability and aged care sectors in both Mackay and Gladstone to steer two major multi art dance projects over two years.$5000 has been provided for the cheek2cheek partnership and Mr Mayer-Miller will drive the facilitation process over a 6 week period between May and June this year. The funding was made available through the Australia Council’s Queensland Partnerships Development Initiative which builds the capacity of the community arts and cultural development sector across the state to partner with other organisations to deliver new projects. The grants will support Community Partnerships organisations to forge and further develop partnerships with a range of organisations to deliver inclusive arts projects in regional Queensland and Brisbane, engaging and collaborating with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, Indigenous artists and remote communities, older Australians and leading and emerging artists with disability. The Australia Council continues to support community arts and cultural development through its new grants model which is open to artists in all areas of practice. For more information on funding opportunities available through the Australia Council visit www.australiacouncil.gov.auApplications for the next round of Australia Council grants close on Tuesday 2 June 2015.
