Funds to upskill workers

IF you want to boost your business productivity and competitiveness by upskilling or retraining your staff you may be able to access funding to accomplish the task.Applications are open for the Liberal National Government’s new $476 million Industry Skills Fund , which will help businesses in Queensland with training places and skills advice over the next four years.Employers will be supported to decide what training is needed in their business, and which training provider they want to work with.It is expected the Industry Skills Fund will provide up to $93 million to Queensland employers to access around 40,000 training and support places.[box style="1 or 2"]Businesses wanting support to train workers will be required to make a contribution of between 25 and 75 per cent to the cost of training.
