Funding fixes traffic black spot

TRAFFIC lights on the corner of Shakespeare and Milton Streets will be upgraded thanks to Liberal National Government funding.“This traffic black spot will receive $222,000 to upgrade the existing traffic signals to fully control right turns.Over a five-year period, there has been one fatality and seven other crashes resulting in injuries at this intersection.Any fatality is one too many, and we want to ensure our local road network is safer for all users, including motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

If you know of other roads or intersections in need of attention I strongly encourage you to submit your nominations. We're happy to hear from councils or individuals.

We have broadened the eligibility criteria for project applications in 2015-16 and 2016-17 to ensure greater access to the $200 million in additional funding for road safety upgrades.Find out more at: http://investment.infrastructure.gov.au/funding/blackspots/index.aspxFEBRUARY 19, 2015
