$100,000 pledge for Eimeo SLSC
JUNE 29, 2016: The Eimeo Surf Life Saving Club needs an upgrade, and today I was happy to offer some financial 'first aid' in the form of a commitment that a re-elected Liberal National Government will provide $100,000 in funding.Everyone understands that our life saving clubs provide a vital service, and I salute their huge volunteer effort of training up young people who make sure our beaches are safe places to be.The Eimeo Surf Life Saving Club is in fact the youngest club in Queensland, and in order to be able to provide the best facilities possible as they train up nippers and cadets, they need to upgrade the club house and install a first aid room and training facility. This will cost them $125,000, and the club has already raised $25,000 themselves.I was happy to announce today that a re-elected Liberal National Government will commit $100,000 to the Eimeo Surf Life Saving Club to allow them to get the job done so that they can continue their great work of equipping young people with first aid experience and training which potentially saves lives. The club’s efforts of patrolling beautiful Eimeo beach on weekends from September through to April and daily through school holidays, year in and year out, means we have a safer community for both our local residents and visitors.
